Picture It Schools Case Studies

This page shows some of our more recent projects:

Barrington C of E School (VC)

One of our most recent projects was working with Barrington C of E School (VC) to produce art to decorate their playground. They decided on the theme of "The Four Seasons" and each House took a different season. We were sent a large number of pictures which were already separated into the different seasons. Our next job was to digitally captured them all before arranging the images for each season into the final design.

We designed backgrounds for each picture to reflect the season it represented so for instance our "Summer" picture had a paint style background to represent the beach, sea and sky. Once we had finished and our proofs had been approved by the school, we printed onto square metal panels. Here are the four final designs we came up with and once the panels have been hung and had their official "unveiling" then we will put some pictures of them in the playground on our website.

Althea Whybrow, who took delivery of the art and worked closely with us throughout the design stages said....
"Today the artwork arrived from Picture it PhotoArt and I have to say that I'm absolutely delighted with each piece! The colours are beautiful and will shine beautifully and catch the sunlight due to the metal backing! I am sure the Staff and children will be delighted too when the panels are in place on the rear wall of the school where they will be enjoyed for many years to come. I am absolutely delighted with it Sue, thank you for your tremendous help all the way through this initiative and for making the whole experience very smooth and stress-free. Your art work has allowed the children's work to (literally!) shine!"

"The children were awestruck as they 'found' their work, and showed it to parents when they came to collect them.”

Children's comments:
"Awesome!"; "Brilliant!"; "Cor! ...wicked!!"; "How did they do that?"; "My robin's on tree!"; "That's mine! I did that...!" "Yeah??; "Superb!"; "Woh!"; "Lovely!"; "Amazing!"., etc.,

Parents' comments:
"I really didn’t know what to expect, but I think it's incredible!"
"Just amazed - looks fabulous there!"
"Colours so bright - looks lovely!"
"Looks like 3D!"
"I think they're absolutely terrific!"
"Well, I think it's wonderful!"
"How much did it cost? ... really? ... for all 4 panels? ...amazing!... brilliant value!"

St Andrews C of E School

Sometimes you haven't got time to get your pupils creating art art or you want something very specific. Mark Harrington a teacher at St Andrews C of E in Wolverhampton approached us as the school wanted a modern version of The Lord's Prayer to be displayed in the school hall. This is the picture we designed for them and then we printed it on a large metal panel to catch the light. We made sure that is was easy to read from a good distance. It works perfectly with their walls which are a lemony cream colour and Mark tells us they love the design and it looks great

Timsbury Preschool

Picture It Schools Timsbury PreschoolTimsbury Pre-School, Nr Romsey in Hampshire wanted something different from our other case studies. Not only did they require art for their outside play area but they wanted to raise funds from the sale of children’s pictures. They sent us 28 pictures the children had painted which they wanted brought together into a composite metal picture. The paintings were all done on white paper and we scanned these images after adding each child’s name to their picture, and then arranged them on the panel. We left quite a bit of white space around them as we knew that when the picture was printed onto the metal the white areas would be clear and the silver of the metal would show through, reflecting the light and giving the image real impact.

Their fundraising was successful too! We reproduced some of the children’s pictures as metal clocks and small metal pictures which they were able to sell to parents at our website prices but buy from us at a discounted price. They can continue to raise funds for their group as any online orders we receive from parents or friends of the playgroup for personalised art will also earn them commission.

Here are some of the children’s original images and the final choice of design chosen by the pre-school. They are going to send us a picture of the art in situ shortly which we will include here as soon as we receive it. We understand that they are delighted with their art as shown by their comments below:

"Picture It Photo Art has been fantastic. We were given advice and support at every stage of the process from starting the paintings through to ordering and fundraising. The finished artwork is wonderful, and has received positive comments from parents, children and visitors to the pre-school. We were also able to raise some money through selling individual metal pictures, clocks and books. It was very simple as all the order forms and information was provided and all orders were delivered individually wrapped for each child. We are a very small pre-school yet still managed to raise almost £60.
It has been a great project which Timsbury Pre-school is very proud of and we hope to repeat again next year.....Again, many thanks for your work and yes we are delighted with it!"

North Hykeham All Saints

Picture It Schools Playground ArtPicture It Schools - Playground ArtLesley Norton, Deputy Head at North Hykeham All Saints CE Primary School in Lincolnshire contacted us in May as they wished to order a Stainless Steel Water Wall to go in an area they were developing near the entrance to the school. Unlike some schools who have used pictures the children painted, they wanted to have their school logo printed onto the acrylic panel. Lesley sent us a school polo shirt so we could see the logo in colour and we produced a design from this which we were able to enlarge and transfer to the acrylic. The water wall now sits in a small garden area with two striking mosaics which the children have completed.

Lesley told us..... “Thank you! We are thrilled with it and have already had so many positive comments including an elderly resident from the local home who wants one for their garden!”

St Mary & All Saints - All things bright & beautiful!

Picture It Schools Playground ArtPicture It Schools - Playground ArtVibrant, bright art created by the children adorns the wall of this courtyard garden, set off beautifully by the water feature shown right and in the corner of the photo below left. Photos of the courtyard before the art was added show the difference the art makes to this environment.

The school approached us as they were creating a “Reflective Garden” in a large courtyard area. They had already installed some decking and wooden planters and were now looking for some art to brighten the area. After discussions with our designers they chose to have 15 individual metal panels with a single image on each. Sizes included 1m square, 2m x 50cm and 1.5m by 75cm panels. One picture was chosen per class and the winning pictures are now displayed for all to see. We think their garden looks stunning, especially with the addition of our Giant Stainless Steel Water Wall with another picture displayed on acrylic inside it.

The artwork given to us to reproduce for the door panel shown left was just 30cm x 8cm. We retained the 3D effect created by the material and buttons which had been fixed to the picture and enlarged it to a HUGE 200 x 50cm! Our favourite piece!

Comments from the Headteacher R Howell were "Working with Picture It Photoart was a pleasure.  From initial discussions, through ordering, production of artwork, to installation and after sales service, they were extremely helpful and professional.  I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone."

Wolsey Infant School

We met the Head of this school when we launched our garden art at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2008. As they only had a small wall space available they wanted individual A5 metal pictures to place on their walls. They sent us 162 paintings to reproduce on metal and some of them are shown below. The children have great fun searching the walls for their individual art work. Whatever the space you have available we can customize pictures to fit your space. We also work within your budget to provide affordable art for you.
