A Day in the Life - School Memory Boards
Have you ever thought of creating a memory board (shown right courtesy of www.bournerimages.com) which can be displayed inside or outdoors, depicting "A Day in the Life of your School"? There are two options:
- The DIY (Do it yourself!) option - send us up to 250 photos which you have taken & we will bring them together in one memory board. Ideal if your budget is limited and you are just after unique art to brighten up your school or as a leaving gift for a valued member of staff.
- The GSI (Get somone in!) option - Picture It PhotoArt will send a professional photographer to your school to take pictures of you at work, rest and play! Perfect if you want to enlarge some of the images or sell individual images as fundraising
1. DIY (Do it yourself!) option
Get out and about with a camera taking photos of children, teachers, governors, parent helpers, and other staff at work, rest and play. Send us your favourite photos either as prints or digital files and we will create a piece of fantastic art ready for printing on one of our exciting indoor or outdoor mediums.
Our charges for this vary depending on the number of photos you send us to process. If you choose this option we can send you some guidance on how to take photos and what resolution to set your camera although you may not need this if you have a keen amateur photographer you can call on.
Artwork and Arrangement Fees
- 1 to 50 photos to be arranged as a collage
£1.30 per photo - 51 to 100 photos to be arranged as a collage
£1.20 per photo - 101 to 200 photos to be arranged as a collage
£1.10 per photo - 201 plus photos arranged as a collage
£1.00 per photo

Once we know the number of photos you want to use we will advise the recommended finished size of your picture. To give you a guide an A4 sheet of paper would take 8 photos approx 10.5 cm x 7.5 cm. Therefore an AO picture (approx 118 x 84cm) will take 128 different photos at this size. The beauty of this type of picture is that from a distance you see a mass of different colours. When you get in closer you are able to pick out the individual photos. An A0 panel with twice this number of photos squeezed into it (each picture size approximately 7.5 x 5cms) has real impact. The individual photos can still be seen close up but from a distance it looks very abstract and draws the viewer in to try and identify what it is. We will always try to work within your budget and we are looking for a school who will allow us to feature them in our Case Studies page within the website. We will be offering a 10% discount to that school.
Price Examples
- An AO metal panel with 250 photos would cost £250 (artwork and arrangement fee) plus £275 (for the printing and media choice), making a total of £525
- An AO metal panel with 110 photos would cost £121 plus £275, equalling £396
- A piece of canvas wall art 1m x 1m with 100 photos on would cost £120 (artwork) plus £150, totalling £270
Please note that all prices include delivery to UK mainland addresses but VAT is excluded.
Turnaround Times
Once you send us your photos we aim to deliver your finished art within 3-4 weeks. We can send you an electronic proof for approval before you order if you would prefer.
2. GSI (Get someone in!) option
As this will be a very special lasting piece of art to display as part of your school’s history, you may prefer to “Get Someone In” to take professional photos.
Julie Bourner has created Life In Squares...a concept created to capture numerous photographic images depicting different aspects of life. Unique collections of images are digitally enhanced, cropped and mounted to form single pieces of modern eye-catching artwork. Initially appearing to be an abstract block of colour on your wall, you are quickly drawn in to discover the intimate detail within.
Exciting contemporary art like this requires striking media to display it. Julie will be working with us at Picture It Schools photographing and creating the art for us. You will then be able to choose from stunning “Silver Art”, traditional canvas or framed Bamboo Paper Prints (produced from a sustainable source) to display your picture indoors. For either indoor or outdoor use choose our metal or acrylic pictures.
You will have something more than “snaps” which will enable us to produce not only a Memory Board, but the photos will be of high enough quality to enlarge and print individual pictures for display around your school. You can also use these images in fundraising projects as parents and friends will be able to order individual photos printed onto our exciting products.
If you choose to “Get Someone In” to take your photos here’s what you will get.....
- All the photographs will be available to you on a CD for using however you wish
- The images will be high resolution and suitable for enlarging as individual pictures
- Exposure, levels and quality will be consistent which will make a much better finished picture
- A professional result at an affordable price
Prices
Julie can travel to a wide range of areas to photograph your school at work, rest and play. Her fees will vary according to the distance she travels. Please contact us if you would like to know more and we will provide you with a quotation. As a guide we expect her fee to be around £500 plus the printing costs shown above in the DIY section.
